Great science deserves great visuals. Too often, brilliant ideas are buried in cluttered slides, unreadable figures, and posters that are easy to overlook. AXIS is here to change that.
The goal of the Summer School on Science Visualization 2026 is to expand the good experience from the University of Zurich's course to whole Switzerland in data visualization, structure and layout of presentations, and design of scientific posters and manuscript figures.
This is not a passive lecture series. You will design, test, refine, and defend your own visual work. We will challenge each other’s creations, exchange honest feedback, and push every project toward its strongest possible form.
Led by chemistry research group leaders Professor Michel Rickhaus (University of Geneva) and Professor Michal Juríček (University of Zurich), AXIS connects visualization with storytelling, creativity, and sharper scientific thinking. Building on their extensive experience in publishing high-impact research, securing competitive grants, and delivering engaging presentations, you will leave with clearer figures, simpler stories, and a new way of seeing and showcasing your own research.
